Sept. 5, 2008 Clint Black appeared this spring on a TV show that was an absolute ratings disaster, yet it might have given him a new career.
Clint was a contestant on the first episode of the CBS series "Secret Talents Of The Stars," which fared so poorly with viewers that it was cancelled after just one airing. Famous people were asked to show off abilities in areas of entertainment that were outside their normal bounds, and particularly memorable was "Star Trek" actor George Takeis less-than-grand version of Willie Nelsons "On The Road Again."
Clints talent was stand-up comedy, and he was funny enough that he got calls from some TV executives who wanted to hear more. As a result, he told WKRN-TV that hes got a comedy special headed for the tube in October.
"People have been laughing at me my entire life," he joked, "and its time I got paid for it."
In the meantime, Clint has another TV date on the docket for Sunday. Hes featured in the ABC special "America United: In Support Of Our Troops," with Jessica Simpson, Toby Keith, Joe Nichols and ZZ Top.
