Sept. 5, 2008 The most successful duo in country music history gave producers a unique amount of access for a one-of-a-kind special this summer, and Brooks & Dunn: Cowboy Town returns to GAC in an encore presentation this weekend.
With unprecedented access to their backstage world on the road, Cowboy Town follows Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn through a variety of live scenarios, from their full concert production to an off-the-cuff romp through Texas on the back of a flatbed truck.
"Every one of these segments had a real significance to what we do in our career and kinda how we grew up," Kix told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "We did Believe in my little country church, which is a one-room church it was the first Methodist Church in Tennessee. And as many times as Ive been in there and worshipped and sang and whatever, it was really neat to go in there with Ronnie and we brought in a choir, some people that we didnt even know. And it was neat to actually be in the church and to talk about how we both came up with that kind of background, and then to sing a song like Believe, and to not only get their reaction, but just to hear ourselves sing it in a place like that for the first time. It was meaningful."
That performance and many more are a part of Brooks & Dunn: Cowboy Town, which airs at 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, then again at midnight and at 10:30 p.m. ET on Monday.
