Sept. 22, 2008 — Kellie Pickler’s sophomore album is set for release on Sept. 30, and it features a title that would make sense for only her to use: Kellie Pickler.

Country artists often title their album after one of the songs on a CD, so they could have easily picked I’m Your Woman or Best Days Of Your Life. But using her name as a banner for the project seemed to reflect where she finds herself artistically.

"These past couple of years have been a crazy whirlwind, and I’ve had some wonderful opportunities," she told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "Different things come into play where it’s really helped, I think, develop me as far as like who I am as an artist. And through this whole process, I finally know who I am. And I’m still learning about myself, but I’m so excited about this new album. And I thought that it would be great to have it self-titled and just Kellie Pickler, because with this album, I think it’s more me than the first one."

In the meantime, Kellie’s got her year-end plans set. She recently announced that she’ll be a correspondent in New York’s Times Square during "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve." That’s the same place Kellie's friend, Carrie Underwood, hung out to ring in 2008.
