Sept. 30, 2008 — Kenny Chesney will likely do some serious alcohol-tasting in the coming months — and it’s all part of the job.

Constellation Spirits, a Chicago-based alcohol company, announced on Monday that it’s struck a deal with Kenny to develop a new rum. Constellation already produces Black Velvet Canadian whiskey, 1792 Ridgemont Reserve bourbon, and SVEDKA and Effen vodkas.

"As an entertainer, my goal is to create an enjoyable experience for people," Kenny says. "I'm going to take that same approach in developing a high-quality rum product with Constellation. We're looking to create a fun-in-the-sun, vacation-in-a-bottle type experience that people everywhere can enjoy when they kick back and relax."

Definitely deserves a toast. Kenny might have even more cause for celebration in the coming weeks. His album Lucky Old Sun reaches stores Oct. 14. And he has seven nominations for the 42nd annual Country Music Association Awards, making him the top nominee. He’s already committed to perform on the Nov. 12 show, along with Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban.

Additionally, Kenny's teamed up with GAC for an upcoming special. Tune in October 13 at 10 p.m. ET to see the premiere of Kenny Chesney: Lucky Old Sun. In the show, Kenny talks about the new record and gives GAC viewers a personal tour through the islands of the Bahamas.
