Oct. 2, 2008 — Mark Wills spent much of December 2003 in the Middle East performing for American troops, and he was so moved that he’s made an annual trip back to make sure the soldiers know they’re remembered at home.

Now, on the heels of his fifth trip to Iraq, he’s captured the experience in a GAC special that debuts Nov. 11, Mark Wills: My Military Diary.

"I treasure all of these times and am thankful for the privilege to be able to shake hands with the men and women who wear the uniform of our military," Mark writes. "I was joined this time by Trent Willmon, Ray Scott and Siren from ‘American Gladiators.’ Our trip started like each of my previous trips, with a long flight to Kuwait!"

The guys performed at least one show daily during their nine-day excursion, in which they got a firsthand look at the former home of a notorious public figure.

"Trent, Ray and I were able to spend the night in one of Saddam [Hussein]'s palaces, and I even got to hit golf balls off the balcony of another one," Mark recalls. "Now that is what I call a long drive."

Mark has appeared often on GAC as the host of the flashback series The Year.
