Oct. 10, 2008 Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have had a relationship for the past three years, and theyre now in the middle of their first co-headlining tour. Despite that, they continue to travel with his and hers buses, just to make sure they maintain their sanity.
"One of us usually rides with the other one, but we have to have our own space," she told The Arizona Daily Star. "Honestly, he gets on my nerves if I have to sit on a bus with him all day. I have to have my own stuff and my own space. You know how you see him, how he is in interviews? He is like that all the time; he never turns it off. I'm like, 'Dude, chill out. I gotta have some space.' I'm sure I get on his nerves, as well."
Blake and Miranda did their first show together this summer, and after it went off without a hitch, they booked the current tour to see how it would play out over a period of time. Whether or not the dual billing becomes a regular part of their road schedule remains to be seen.
"We really are just so different," she said. "We just wanted to keep our relationship really real. We don't want to do anything that's over-the-top cheeseball. We are going to test the waters here. We have a great relationship, and we want to make sure we keep it that way first. If music gets to be involved in it, that's even better."
Blake and Miranda play Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Friday and Pikeville, Ky., on Saturday. Thus far, they have four more dates on the books through Oct. 24.
