Nov. 17, 2008 There are lots of celebrations set for the coming weeks: Thanksgiving is just 10 days away, Christmas comes in 38 days, and the new year is just 45 days in the future. During the interim, Trent Tomlinson will be doing a lot of planning, as the first single from his sophomore album is set to come out in January.
The album is finished, and it marks his first new music since March 2006 nearly three years ago. That first album yielded hits with "Drunker Than Me" and "One Wing In The Fire," which made Trent all the more anxious to see what he could do with his second CD.
"Its been hard," Trent says about the long wait. "Ive been off the radio for a year now, but Ive really worked hard at craftin this album. I write all the songs on my record. Its been a long haul, but I think its gonna be well worth the stretch."
Trents work on the new album overlapped with significant changes in his personal life. He married model Jessica Lowman in March, two months after the birth of their daughter, Harleigh. Thus far, hes giving fatherhood a thumbs-up.
"The babys doin great," he says. "Shes gettin big. Shell be walkin before too long, so were very, very excited."
Trent and Jessica are living in North Carolina, but hell spend at least a chunk of the holiday season on the other side of the country. Hes got concert dates set in Lewiston, Idaho, Dec. 20; Stateline, Idaho, Dec. 21; and Snoqualmie, Wash., Dec. 30.
