Nov. 18, 2008 The Grammy nominations will be announced during a concert TV special for the first time this year, and Taylor Swift has been tabbed to help co-host the event Dec. 3 from Los Angeles Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
Taylor joins Mariah Carey and LL Cool J as emcees for the evening, which also celebrates the grand opening of the Grammy Museum in Santa Monica. Performers on the show will include B.B. King, John Mayer, Foo Fighters and Celine Dion.
The announcement of Taylors involvement comes as shes expected to debut at No. 1 on the country album chart and likely on the all-genre Billboard 200 with her latest CD, Fearless. Taylor performed the lead single, "Love Story," on last weeks 42nd Annual CMA Awards. The song continues to display her fascination with male-female relationships, both the successful ones and the failures.
"Its just what I like to write songs about," Taylor told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "Its my favorite thing to write about. Its not the only thing I write about, but its mostly the thing I write about. And I think there are 15 million angles to a relationship. Theres, you know, when youre getting into it, and then when it starts to go bad, and then when the breakup happens. Omigosh, there are so many feelings involved there, so many feelings, and then if you write em all down, youve got four albums worth of material."
The Grammys and the CMAs are not the only awards-related appearances involving Taylor these days. Shes slated to appear Sunday on the American Music Awards and shes also nominated in the Peoples Choice Awards, slated for Jan. 7.
Taylor is GACs Artist of the Month for November.
