Nov. 18, 2008 — Big & Rich cut their concert dates dramatically this year while Big Kenny rehabbed a longstanding neck injury and both members of the duo worked on solo albums. That word "solo" inevitably leads to speculation about breakups, and Big & Rich have generated a fair share of rumors, but Big Kenny and John Rich are already planning to hit the road next year.

While they’ll be road buddies, it might be a while before the third Big & Rich project comes to fruition.

"John’s making a record," Big Kenny told Nashville television station WKRN. "I’m making three different records — actually, four, ‘cause I decided this week I wanna make a reggae record, too. And then I’ve got my musicals! I’ve been working on them for forever! But it’s just so much work. It takes a long time."

John made a couple of public appearances last week without Big Kenny. He was a presenter at "The 42nd Annual CMA Awards." And he performed in New York during the dedication of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. His audience included President George W. Bush, New York State Governor David Paterson, Congressman Charles B. Rangel and Senators Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
