Nov. 19, 2008 — Blake Shelton’s new album, Startin’ Fires, was released on Tuesday, and if his internal barometer is any indication, it should top the results of his previous project.

"I’m absolutely in a better place than I was when we made the Pure BS album," he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I got to the point in the making of that album, I threw up my hands and said, ‘Look! I don’t even care anymore. Just let’s put this thing out there.’ And I think that’s why it was so pieced together. And then with the repackaging of the album as I started to get [myself] back together and knew that I wanted to go back in and make more music, and I went in and cut ‘Home.’ I was already back to being myself again, and I was really wantin’ to go in and start recording music again that made me happy."

The album’s first single, "She Wouldn’t Be Gone," is currently positioned at No. 16 on the Country Aircheck chart. The CD also features "Bare Skin Rug," a duet with Blake’s girlfriend, Miranda Lambert.
