GAC's Suzanne Alexander hangs with the legendary Bellamy Brothers

Nov. 19, 2008 — Everything old is new again. That’s true, at least, for the Bellamy Brothers whose first hit, "Let Your Love Flow," is at No. 25 in the United Kingdom 32 years after its original release.

It’s not a sign that the English are slow. Instead, it’s a confirmation of the power of advertising. The song was licensed for a commercial by Barclay Bank’s credit card, and that exposure renewed interest in Howard and David’s song. The brothers had no idea the song was appearing in the spots until "Let Your Love Flow" reappeared on the charts.

"Any artist is always thrilled when one of your signature songs has longevity like this because it was 32 years ago when we first released the tune," David says. "We’ve always had such faithful fans in Europe, like we do in the United States, but with the single charting again we’re introducing our music to a whole new generation of music lovers."

While the duo is best known as a country act, "Let Your Love Flow" actually topped the U.S. pop charts when it first came out. It also hit No. 1 in Germany, Scandinavia and Great Britain, where it’s back at No. 25.
