Dec. 2, 2008 Randy Houser has earned quick name recognition with his first single, "Anything Goes," which has climbed into the nations Top 20.
Randy already had a bit of a reputation on Music Row after co-writing Trace Adkins hit "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk." But Randy did not write "Anything Goes," which he picked up from songwriters Brice Long and John Wiggins.
"Its important as an artist to cut other peoples songs, especially when theyre better than mine," Randy told Billboard rather selflessly. "I wouldnt be here now if somebody hadnt cut my songs."
Well, he actually might have found a way. Randy figured out at an early age that he wanted to be a musician when he heard live R&B and blues in Mississippi.
"The first time I saw my dad get onstage and play guitar, I was done," he said. "I knew what I wanted to do."
Randys Anything Goes album debuted last week at No. 21 on the Billboard country albums chart.
