Dec. 12, 2008 — Miley Cyrus and songwriter Jeffrey Steele picked up a Golden Globe nomination Thursday for Best Original Song, recognizing "I Thought I Lost You," which they composed for the animated picture Bolt.

"I'm so stoked!" she told People. "I never expected to get nominated. I can't believe I'm on the same list as Clint Eastwood, Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen and everyone else."

Miley, who turned 16 on Nov. 23, also got a learner’s permit to drive a car this week. She had reportedly asked for a Mercedes for her birthday, but dad Billy Ray Cyrus gave her a recording studio instead. Her first set of wheels: a Porsche Cayenne, a five-seat sport utility vehicle. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price, according to U.S. News & World Report, ranges from $46,400 to $93,700.

Miley hasn’t yet decided what to wear for the awards. She’s floated the idea of bringing Jeffrey or Bolt co-star John Travolta to the ceremony Jan. 11.
