Dec. 15, 2008 — When Keith Anderson was a kid in Oklahoma, his house was visited every year by Santa Claus — just like children all around the world. But the packages and the stockings were secondary concerns during the holidays.

"We never really had a lot of gifts, so it wasn’t really about that," he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "It was more about going home and seeing everybody. And even when I lived at home, even when I was a junior in high school, it was a time to see all the cousins from all over the nation, because most of my dad and mom’s family were right there in the Miami, Okla., area. So everybody would come back, and it was time just to see everybody and catch up with everybody and just have family time."

Keith took part on Thursday in a benefit concert for a Christmas gift-giving program. He joined Danielle Peck and Kate and Kacy Coppola at a Toys For Tots show in Santa Ynez, Calif.
