Dec. 19, 2008 — Luke Bryan dug up a rock ‘n’ roll classic this year for a new Christmas recording. He covered the 50-year-old "Run, Rudolph, Run," first made famous by guitar legend Chuck Berry.

"We just felt like it was a time for me to put something fun out for the holidays," Luke told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "Man, we went through so many songs, and there’s so many that we looked at that people had done a lot. But when we found ‘Run, Run, Rudolph,’ we were like, ‘Man, you know, we don’t know if we’ve heard a country version of this,’ so we went in and cut it and had a blast. I went and bought a bunch of Santa Claus hats and I made my studio band put ‘em on during the recording process."

Among the country acts that have indeed covered "Run, Rudolph, Run" are Dwight Yoakam, Aaron Tippin, Billy Ray Cyrus and Paul Brandt.
