Jan. 5, 2009 — Brad Paisley is just 10 days away from the next leg of his Paisley Party Tour, but he’s already looking ahead to his next concert run, which will coincide with the release of a new album this summer.

One of the things that’s on his mind is giving people a big show, but doing it in a way that makes the equipment as small as possible.

"This year I think we're at nine trucks," he told The Tennessean. "I definitely don't want to go more than nine [this] year because we found out the hard way [what can happen] with gas prices. And economically, too, there's something really ostentatious about rolling into these towns that way when everyone's hurting. I think [2009] is going to be a little worse than 2008, but I think people are still going to buy tickets because we're going to keep our prices low. And I think they are still going to come out because they need music more than ever."

Brad’s tour schedule seems as if it’s geared rather smartly around his personal life. The Paisley Party returns to the road in Southaven, Miss., with a new supporting lineup — Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and Crystal Shawanda — Jan. 15 and runs through March 14 in Nashville. That should leave Brad able to be on hand when his wife, Kimberly, delivers the couple’s second baby in April. That’ll give him several weeks or months at home with the new child and their son, Huck, before the next tour begins again.
