Jan. 9, 2009 With his next concert tour planned to hit the road in May, Keith Urban will do a mini-performance Feb. 15 at one of NASCARs signature races, the Daytona 500.
Keith is thus far promising to do at least three of his hits during the pre-race show at Daytona Beach, which has a history of attracting major country stars. Among those whove sung "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Daytona 500 are Big & Rich, Trisha Yearwood, LeAnn Rimes, Lorrie Morgan and T.G. Sheppard. Country Music Hall of Famer Marty Robbins actually raced in the event twice.
Its unclear if Keith will perform the anthem when he appears at the track.
Earlier this week, Keith unveiled 58 North American cities where he intends to play on his next tour. The opening act at every show will be one of the following artists: Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Glen Campbell or the Zac Brown Band.
