Jan. 20, 2009 Jo Dee Messina delivered her first child shortly after 1 p.m. Monday in a Nashville-area hospital, People magazine reported.
Jo Dee and husband Chris Deffenbaugh named the boy Noah Roger Deffenbaugh. He weighed 6 lbs., 15 oz.
Chris owns a company that makes custom road cases for performers, and he also built a crib and changing table for little Noah that the family will use at home. By all accounts, its a happy home in which Noah will begin to experience the world.
"We still hang out and laugh," Jo Dee told GACTV.com last summer. "How many days go by when people don't have one of those big belly laughs? We have em every day."
Jo Dee and Chris married in October 2007. Mom did not allow her pregnancy to keep her down. She ran a five-mile race on Thanksgiving, though she pulled a hamstring in the process. She also performed for the homeless at Nashvilles Riverfront Park on Christmas Eve.
Jo Dee kicks off an acoustic concert tour April 16 in Verona, N.Y.
