Feb. 12, 2009 — Trace Adkins surprised a lot of fans with his marketing savvy when he appeared last year on Donald Trump’s NBC series "The Celebrity Apprentice," and now he’s bringing a little of his salesmanship — along with his voice — to a new Grand Ole Opry campaign.

The Opry is launching a series of ads with the slogan "See The Show That Made Country Music Famous," and Trace did the voice-over work for the TV and radio spots. In addition to reading the copy, he also had a hand in designing the message and approving some of the visuals as the Opry marketers and advertising agency built the campaign.

"Once again, I have been humbled by the folks at the Opry," Trace says. "For them to think that I might have anything to contribute to this campaign is something I never dreamed could happen."

The ads incorporate the legacy of Hank Williams and Patsy Cline with the presence of such current Opry stars as Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Josh Turner and Dierks Bentley.

Loretta Lynn, Jessica Simpson and Patty Loveless appear on an encore presentation of Opry Live Saturday on GAC at 9 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, "The Celebrity Apprentice" recruited another Opry member — Clint Black — for this year’s edition of the reality series, which kicks off March 1.
