Feb. 20, 2009 — Jake Owen has numerous events synchronizing very nicely in his career, and just as things are reaching fever pitch, he pops in to chat with Nan Kelley this week on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown.

Jake’s Easy Does It album comes out on Tuesday, and it couldn’t have been timed much better. The first single, "Don’t Think I Can’t Love You," is in the Top 10 on the USA Today Mediabase country singles chart, and he’s a double nominee for the "44th Annual ACM Awards" April 5. He’s in the running for Top New Male Vocalist and received a nod for Vocal Event of the Year with Sugarland and Little Big Town for their remake of the Dream Academy’s "Life In A Northern Town."

Thanks to the first of those two nominations, Jake is one of nine artists being recognized in the GAC special ACM Showcase, hosted by Jack Ingram. The show highlights the nine acts that have been nominated for Top New Male, Top New Female or Top New Vocal Duo or Group: Jake, Jamey Johnson, James Otto, Sarah Buxton, Julianne Hough, Ashton Shepherd, the Eli Young Band, the Lost Trailers, and the Zac Brown Band. The special airs Friday at 11 p.m. ET.

Top 20 Country Countdown counts down the week's top country videos from No. 20 to No. 1 as voted by viewers on each week on GACTV.com. A new countdown premieres every Friday at 8 p.m. ET on GAC and airs again Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET; Sundays at 1 p.m. ET; and Mondays at 10 a.m. ET. Viewers can vote for their favorite videos, as well as purchase Top 20 artists' albums and ringtones at GACTV.com.
