Feb. 23, 2009 — Experience, it’s been said, is the best teacher, and it’s a good thing that Josh Turner had a good experience his first time around as a father, because he’ll be a dad a second time this summer.

Josh and Jennifer’s son, Hampton, turned two in October, and with lessons learned from parenting him, Josh figures that everything is fine.

"I do feel more confident," he told People. "Jennifer talked about little things she's worried about, but I'm like, 'Hey we've been through this before.' The fundamental things you freaked out about with the first child, I don't think you'll freak out about them as much. I'm more prepared for those newborn months, the crying and trying to figure out what's wrong."

When Jennifer delivered the news that she was pregnant, it was a tonic for a disappointing day. Josh had been writing a song in Nashville, but the results weren’t quite what he’d expected. The result from his wife’s pregnancy test — well, that was a positive development for Josh and for Hampton, too.

"He's excited about having a play partner," Josh said. "He keeps talking about how he wants to snuggle with [the baby]. I'm hoping he's going to be snuggly and not rough!"

Josh also hopes the recording industry is feeling a little snuggly about one of his recordings. His duet with Trisha Yearwood, "Another Try," is in the running for Vocal Event of the Year at the "44th Annual ACM Awards". They’ll be presented April 5 in Las Vegas.
