March 5, 2009 The world in 2009 is very different from 1999 when Brad Paisley released his first album. At the time, there was no iPhone, there was no YouTube and you couldnt assume that people had Internet access.
Thats no longer the case. You can read interviews online from a morning paper in London or see concert footage from the previous night uploaded from a cellphone camera. Brad, who designed the graphics for his concerts on his own computer, sees the new order as a great way to enhance his relationship with his fans.
"It used to be that people knew very little about what their favorite singers were up to," he told Radio Ink. "Not anymore, thanks to the Internet. They know now when you get a No. 1 record, when you are in the studio, when you are putting tickets on sale. They know when your wife is having breakfast with Sheryl Crow. Its a bold new world."
The world of concert touring still uses buses and takes artists to see their fans one market at a time, and Brads currently on the road with Dierks Bentley and Crystal Shawanda with the Paisley Party. The trek comes to a stop after his March 14 date in Nashville.
