March 13, 2009 During the fall campaign season, Tim McGraw was tossed up as a potential candidate for Tennessee Governor in 2010. He has some interest in the topic, but if he runs for office, it wont be that soon.
"I grew up in Louisiana, so anybody who knows anything about Louisiana knows that [politics is] kind of a pasttime in Louisiana," he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I grew up in high school and college being very interested in it. Its a noble calling to be a politician, a public servant I mean, there are people who do good jobs and people who dont do such good jobs. But thatd be something Id be interested in way down the road. Ive got a lot more time in my career, I think, before I can think about that, and plus I want the kids to be grown before that ever happens."
Tims one-half of one of Americas favorite celebrity couples youve heard of Faith Hill, right? Now a singer-songwriter that authored one of Tims ballads has his own celebrity marriage. Americana/rock artist Ryan Adams, who wrote "When The Stars Go Blue," tied the knot with pop singer-songwriter Mandy Moore in Savannah, Ga., this week. No gubernatorial aspirations have been mentioned.
