Miley, Billy Ray Cyrus Lead "Hannah" Storm

April 2, 2009 — Hannah Montana: The Movie is targetted at pre-teens and teenagers, and it’s giving them plenty of country music in the process.

Miley Cyrus stars in the picture, which debuts April 10, and music from the movie is already riding the country chart. "The Climb," Miley’s first single from the album, is at No. 46 in Country Aircheck, and Billy Ray Cyrus’ movie theme "Back To Tennessee" is at No. 50. Taylor Swift contributed a song called "Crazier" to the soundtrack, which debuts at No. 2 on The Billboard 200, and Rascal Flatts also delivered an acoustic version of "Bless The Broken Road."

Billy Ray, Taylor and Rascal Flatts are all expected at the world premiere of the movie at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre Thursday night, as is Adam Gregory. And Bucky Covington reportedly makes his movie debut in the picture as well.

But Miley remains the centerpiece of the Hannah storm. She pre-taped a performance before Wednesday’s broadcast of "American Idol" that will be broadcast during the show in the coming weeks, according to "Access Hollywood." Her autobiography, Miles To Go, is No. 1 on The New York Times best-sellers list for children’s titles. And she’s on the cover of the May issue of Glamour magazine, which hits newsstands Tuesday.

In the story, she confirms her interests in Justin Gaston, the buff boyfriend she met through his participation in last summer’s country TV contest, "Nashville Star," which was hosted by her dad.

"The best thing that’s happened to me in a long, long time has been meeting Justin," she told the magazine. "He’s the most respectful and selfless person I’ve ever known."

In the meantime, Miley’s set to perform during Sunday’s CBS telecast of the "44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards". And to sort of cinch that Hannah/country connection, one of Miley’s favorite scenes in the movie comes when she does a line dance called the Hoedown Throwdown, which is already being taught on YouTube. The steps are a generational throwback. The "Hoedown Throwdown" songwriters were challenged, according to Billboard, to come up with a number that would lends itself to a Miley dance that’s a cross between the "Macarena" and Billy Ray’s "Achy Break Heart."
