April 14, 2009 — Rodney Atkins, the Judds, Dierks Bentley and the Lost Trailers are all doing their part to give back.

Country music stars extend their hands frequently through benefit concerts and charitable events, and there are a huge number of supportive efforts on the books for the coming weeks that range from a show for a Tennessee family that lost its home in a tornado to aiding children in a war-torn African nation.

Among the fundraisers that will feature country artists in the near future:

• Rodney, Jason Michael Carroll, Steve Holy, Phil Vassar, Lee Brice and David Nail have signed up to give a benefit show Thursday at the Tin Roof in Nashville, Country Aircheck reported. The concert raises money for a radio promotion man who lost his home and suffered major injuries in a tornado in nearby Murfreesboro.

• Naomi and Wynonna Judd will reunite, according to The Tennessean for the annual Divas Nashvegas show May 16 at the Loveless Barn in Nashville. The concert, which also features Kenny Rogers, raises money for the Oasis Center.

• The Lost Trailers and newcomer Richie Fields are among the acts playing Aid 4 Autism, a multi-genre benefit May 2 at Wild Bill’s in Duluth, Ga.

• Keith Urban has joined the roster of talent in Big Kenny’s Nashville4Africa concert April 22 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Previously announced performers include Faith Hill, Dierks Bentley, Martina McBride, the SteelDrivers and the African Children’s Choir.

• The 15th annual Tracy Lawrence Foundation golf tournament is slated for Monday in Texarkana, Texas, with an estimated 240 players expected to participate. The foundation assists multiple causes, including education, childhood abuse and Alzheimer’s.

• NFL player Kevin Carter co-hosts the annual Waiting For Wishes Celebrity Waiter’s Dinner Tuesday at The Palm in Nashville, according to The Tennessean. Others taking orders include John Rich, Phil Vassar, Dierks Bentley and at least seven other NFL stars, including Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway.
