May 15, 2009 — John Michael Montgomery had one of the most consistent commercial country resumes of the 1990s. Now he’s part of a new commercial — or, rather, an informercial — that celebrates some of the genre’s best recordings since then.
Time Life has packed 160 songs into Country Music Explosion, a box set that includes music by the likes of Sugarland, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Craig Morgan, Brooks & Dunn and Alan Jackson, among others. The package also includes three songs by John Michael: "I Love The Way You Love Me," "I Swear" and "I Can Love You Like That." John Michael was enlisted by the company to host an informercial, which began running April 24.
"This company is an icon in American history, and I’m excited to be part of their continuing musical legacy," John Michael says.
John Michael’s pitch was shot on the stage of the venerable Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. John Michael plans to be back in Music City for the CMA Music Festival June 11-14.
