May 19, 2009 — Julianne Hough was disappointed when she and Chuck Wicks were eliminated from this year’s "Dancing With The Stars" competition, though she was excited about the time it left her to concentrate exclusively on music — especially since she won’t be coming back to "DWTS" next season.
But that doesn’t mean she’s walking away from the ABC series permanently. In fact, Julianne expects that a year from now she’ll be competing once again with another celebrity partner.
"I am appreciative to be taking this coming season of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ off to focus on my other career paths like touring in support of my album and recording my next one," she told People. "I look forward to returning to ‘DWTS’ in early 2010."
Those opportunities include opening for George Strait on his current tour. The itinerary’s biggest highlight is the June 6 inaugural event at Cowboys Stadium in Irving, Texas. The bill also features Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton.
