May 27, 2009 — Blake Shelton had an admittedly erratic career for a while, hitting No. 1 with singles such as "Austin" and "Some Beach," but earning only minor success with some of his other releases. In the last year, he’s put it together by reaching the top with two consecutive hits, "Home" and "She Wouldn’t Be Gone," and he’s found that success breeds fear.

"Right now is the most pressure I think I've felt," he told Dial-Global. "It's one thing when people high five you in town and say, 'Alright, Blake, you did it again. You're back.' And it's another thing, you know, when you do this... This turns heads a lot more, and this makes people take a closer look at my overall career and where its heading and everything from what radio expects from me on this single and right down to what promoters are looking at out on the road. Now comes the pressure, because now it's my time to showcase what I think I can do overall, not just find another No. 1 hit. I mean, everything that encompasses my career now is being looked at."

Blake’s latest single hasn’t gotten to No. 1 yet, but it’s still on the rise. "I’ll Just Hold On" is at No. 21 on the current USA Today Mediabase country list. He’s also touring with Julianne Hough and headliner George Strait.
