Gloriana hams it up with GAC host Suzanne Alexander during a recent visit to the GAC studio in Nashville, Tenn.

Aug. 14, 2009 — Gloriana is enjoying an appropriately glorious debut, and the band joins Katie Armiger this week with guest host Suzanne Alexander on this week’s edition of GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown.

Gloriana came together in Nashville in late 2007 and quickly gained the attention of producer Matt Serletic (Santana, matchbox twenty), who signed them to a recording deal and took them in the studio. With Little Big Town-like harmonies, they put out their first single, "Wild At Heart," in January, then got an opening slot on Taylor Swift’s Fearless Tour. The band’s self-titled debut landed at No. 2 on the Billboard country album chart its first week out and checked in at No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

Katie had her own special moment recently. She was featured in a prestigious New York Times trend story about the roll out of youthful women in country music. The 18-year-old singer, who’s released a pair of albums, appeared alongside Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler in the piece. Katie concludes a summer mall tour, sponsored in part by GAC, Sunday in St. Paul, Minn.
