Sept. 16, 2008 — Kix Brooks is now a neighbor of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. Kix and his wife, Barbara, have purchased a house for a whopping $5.45 million in the Bancroft development of Nashville’s Forest Hills neighborhood in a deal that The Nashville City Paper calls the most expensive residential purchase since the start of 2007.

Kix will definitely be living large. The house has 13,000 square feet of space, with four bedrooms and 5-1/2 baths. It also features a pool with a 45-foot-wide waterfall and a wine cellar — appropriate for the owner of Arrington Vineyards.

It’s not the only recent property transfer for someone who’s currently nominated for a Country Music Association Award. Glenn Frey, of the Eagles, paid $7.75 million for a five-acre lot in Hawaii, according to BergProperties.com, which characterizes Glenn’s new house as a 4,400-square-foot structure built in 1986 on the island of Kauia. It also features a waterfall — in the living room — as well as a fireplace, Jacuzzi and maid’s quarters.

Brooks & Dunn are nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year, while the Eagles are in the running for Vocal Group.

The Eagles had to postpone a show in Houston last week as Hurricane Ike bore down on Texas. The date has been rescheduled for October.
