Sept. 29, 2008 Its been 15 months since Lady Antebellum announced its signing with Capitol Records and a full year since the trios first single, "Love Dont Live Here," was sent to radio.
Since then, its been a whirlwind existence. The single became a certified hit, their first album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country albums chart, and they won the Academy of Country Music award for Top New Duo or Vocal Group.
"I was brought up to always believe in yourself and to follow your dreams," Lady As Hillary Scott told the Pennsylvania newspaper The Sunbury Daily Item. "Although I did that when the band first started out, I never would have imagined we would have achieved this amount of success so fast in our career."
They may be achieving more in the near future as well. The band is currently nominated for New Artist of the Year in the 42nd annual Country Music Association Awards along with Rodney Atkins, Kellie Pickler, James Otto and Jason Aldean. The winners will be announced when the trophies are handed out at Nashvilles Sommet Center Nov. 12.
