Oct. 3, 2008 Trace Adkins and Miranda Lambert each plan to debut new videos next week on GAC with both of them carving out new stylistic territory in the process.
Traces "Muddy Water" video enlists a "Celebrity Apprentice" buddy for the first time, as Stephen Baldwin takes a central role in the baptism-themed clip which was shot recently in Middle Tennessee.
"I know Stephen's story, and I just thought it would be a song he could identify with," Trace says. "It's cool to have a real pro come in here. With Stephen, you can do it all in one take. He was perfect."
"It's a beautiful song, the way its been written and performed," Stephen notes. "I think it's something that can really relate with a lot of people."
The video premieres Monday on GAC and at several other outlets.
Mirandas "More Like Her" video makes its national TV debut the following day on GAC, and it takes her in a different emotional direction. Mirandas earned a reputation as a fiery personality, thanks to the revenge-filled storylines of "Kerosene" and "Gunpowder & Lead," but the new video showcases a woman whos turning inward instead of outward.
"It was scary for me to put this song on the record since I wasnt sure how fans would react to seeing this side," Miranda observes. "But this is one of my absolute favorites, and Im excited by the positive reaction from fans and country radio so far."
Trace and Miranda are both double-nominees for "The 42nd Annual CMA Awards". Miranda, whos already committed to perform on the show, is in the running for Female Vocalist of the Year and Single, for "Gunpowder." Traces "Youre Gonna Miss This" competes for Single and Music Video of the Year. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the honors from Nashvilles Sommet Center Nov. 12.
