Oct. 23, 2008 — Carrie Underwood and Lee Ann Womack both made promotional trips to New York on Wednesday with new projects now out in the marketplace.

Carrie went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum for the unveiling of her likeness in wax. And while Carrie was embracing a substance known for melting, Lee Ann dropped in on an area that recently experienced a meltdown, ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

Carrie’s figurine, wearing a copy of the dress she wore to the 2006 Country Music Association Awards, is located in the museum’s VIP Room, where patrons are able to have their picture taken right alongside her.

"I am honored to have been asked to pose for a Madame Tussauds wax figure," Carrie says. "This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

Among the other famous people honored at Madame Tussauds are Miley Cyrus, Eli Manning, George W. Bush, Tyra Banks and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The closing bell was an appropriate event for Lee Ann, since her current single is "Last Call." The video was shot in Manhattan, and it helped introduce her album Call Me Crazy, just released on Tuesday. Lee Ann also visited "The Early Show" on CBS while in the Big Apple.

"A lot of the songs just come from real life, whether I wrote them or other writers," she said, of the album. "That's the beauty of country music: It's about real-life situations. I look for songs that really mean something to me, either I have been through it or I know somebody that's been through it, something that really touches me."

Call Me Crazy includes guest appearances by George Strait and Keith Urban.
