April 10, 2006 — Sara Evans' secret is out: to keep up with the Jones' — or in this case, her fellow country music stars — she constantly monitors country music television.

"I turn on Great American Country all the time just because I love to see what's going on, who's wearing what," she says.

This admission makes her the perfect subject for My Music Mix, an hour-long program that lets artists compile their very own video playlist based on their favorites. Evans tells host Nan Kelley on the episode that premieres April 17 at 9 p.m. (ET) that Tim McGraw's and Faith Hill's "Like We Never Loved At All" tops her list.

"I think they're both amazing actors and this video is so dramatic, it's like a movie...one that I would watch over and over again," Evans says. "There's a lot of sexual tension in this video and I love the fact that they can't really be together."

So has the 35-year-old mother of three ever considered casting real life husband Craig Schelske in the role of a love interest in one of her own videos? "Craig, bless his heart, begs me to be in every video and I'm like, 'Look, a video is the only opportunity that I will have to kiss another man and it's OK.' So why would I cast Craig, I can kiss him anytime!"

Toby Keith's "As Good As I Once Was" makes Evans' list as one of the funniest clips out there. "It's hilarious," she exclaims. "There is a certain image we artists like to project, and people sometimes forget that we're totally normal. I think Toby totally gets that and in this video he's trying to tell the world, 'Look, I'm just like everyone else.' "

On the serious side of things, Evans picks "Whiskey Lullaby," the song by former tour mate Brad Paisley and his duet partner, Alison Krauss, as an outstanding clip. "Director Rick Shroeder did an amazing job...this is also like a short film, one I watch from top to bottom. I'm a really happy person but I love to watch really sad movies and listen to depressing songs."

With several videos to her credit, Evans enjoys the video-making process but acknowledges that at times it can be dangerous. "The shoot for 'Real Fine Place' almost killed me," she recalls. "We were out in the desert, shooting on a huge rock. They'd instruct me to 'look in the sun,' I'd look away and be totally blinded and almost fell off the cliff. I also just missed stepping on a rattlesnake and the set almost burned down."

Just another day in Sara Evans' self-described "totally normal life."

This week's GACtv.com Country Q & A comes from Sharlene in Cornell, Wisc.:

Q: When was Shania Twain's first paid gig?

A: Shania Twain first made a little money singing when she was a very little girl. That's when her parents would take her to local pubs, stand her up on the end of the bar, and she'd sing for the patrons. By the time she was a teenager, she was a professional performer.
