
Reba McEntire will host the "43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards" on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. The ACM Awards Show honors country music's top talent as well as the industry's hottest emerging talent. GAC will broadcast the live pre-show from the Orange Carpet at 7 p.m. ET, featuring interviews with top stars including Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and other potential award winners from the night!

Fremont Street Experience

The legendary Randy Owen and award-winning duo Sugarland will rock the Academy's Fremont Street Concerts on May 16 and 17 in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is the title sponsor of the two-day party featuring free, open-to-the-public musical performances and boot-stompin' fun.
On Friday, May 16 at 10:30 p.m. PST, Randy will hit the stage on Fremont Street performing songs from his debut solo album, One on One. His current single, "Braid My Hair," has been a fixture on the country charts since its release in early 2008. Randy was the lead singer for Alabama, which up until their 2003 Farewell Tour had received 66 nominations and 19 wins from the ACM.
Former ACM New Duo/Group of the Year winner Sugarland will take the stage Saturday, May 17 at 10:30 p.m., following the Academy of Country Music 5th Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride and Jam. Duo members Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are nominated for four Academy of Country Music Awards this year for their multi- platinum-selling album Enjoy the Ride, including Top Vocal Duo and Video of the Year ("Stay"). The duo is also nominated for Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Stay," which both Nettles and Bush produced and Nettles single-handedly wrote. Sugarland is currently working on their third album, scheduled for September release.
Both performances will be preceded by special guest performers, to be announced in May.
4th Annual Motorcycle Ride

For the fifth straight year, Montgomery Gentry will host the Academy of Country Music Charity Motorcycle Ride to be held on Saturday, May 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"This event keeps getting bigger and bigger every year," said Eddie Montgomery. "It's one of the highlights of the week in Las Vegas, and we're raising more and more money for the ACM Charitable Fund as new people continue to join us on the ride. I'm proud to be a part of such a great cause."
"Bob Romeo asked Eddie and me to host this event five years ago, and we've been watching it grow ever since. We started with about 100 bikes, and this year we're expecting more than 1,500 bikes to ride out," said Troy Gentry. "It's an honor to be involved with such an incredible mix of people and artists who are willing to donate their time and money to the Fund."

Joe Don Rooney, Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts will host the 5th Annual Academy of Country Music Celebrity Golf Classic, set for Saturday, May 17 at TPC Las Vegas. The event will benefit the Academy of Country Music Charitable Fund.
All-Star Jam

The 2008 All-Star Jam will immediately follow the Awards ceremony at the MGM Grand Ballroom.
This year's show will be bigger than ever, with appearances by more than 20 artists. The three and a half hour concert will include sets by Tracy Lawrence as well as Miranda Lambert, Randy Owen, Kellie Pickler and hell-raising Renaissance man, John Rich. And that's the beauty of the All-Star Jam--you never know who'll show up!
