Our Song: Brad & Jana Mates

Brad Mates, the lead singer of Emerson Drive, spent more than ten years on the road before he would come across the woman he would one day marry, teacher Jana Raymond.  The couple met briefly at an Emerson Drive gig but Brad remembered her phone number and thus began a three-month, long-distance courtship.  On this episode of Our Song, we visit with Brad and Jana at their home in Nashville and learn about their first meeting, engagement, and a wedding that brought Brad's family and friends from Alberta across the country to celebrate with Jana’s family in Maine.  Jana currently teaches at an inner city school in Nashville and Brad fronts a band that is on the road a majority of the year.  The newlyweds are learning to balance their busy lives as they forge a path together.
